Functional outcome of surgical management of fracture of proximal humerus treated with proximal humerus internal locking operative system plating

Purpose: To study the functional outcome of proximal humerus internal locking system plating in displaced fractures.Materials and Methods: Prospective interventional a total 30 patients admitted VIMS, Ballari with fractures between August 2020 2022 were included study. Patients treated followed up at 6 weeks, 12 weeks months evaluated for using Constant Murley shoulder scoring system.Results: Excellent was noted 20%, Good 47%, fair 23% poor 10% cases. 90% had clinical radiological union 3 months. The range motion showed gradual improvement successive follow ups.Conclusion: PHILOS plate provides high degree angular axial stability eliminating screw loosening backout. significantly less plastic deformation subsequent to torsional forces.
